Job Description

We are looking for a talented and self-motivated Frontend Developer to join our games team. You have a thirst for knowledge and a passion for technologies. You have a great understanding of frontend technologies, and the challenges browsers, devices and layouts bring. You will join an extremely talented team using both frontend and backend technologies. Flexible work arrangements are offered.

Key responsibilities include:

Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly web applications for our games portfolio
Collaborate with designers and backend developers to implement intuitive user interfaces
Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
Optimise web applications for maximum speed and scalability across various devices and browsers
Implement and maintain version control using Git
Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development practices
Stay up-to-date with emerging frontend technologies and industry trends
Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications
Ensure cross-browser compatibility and responsive design principles are adhered to
Contribute to the development of reusable code and libraries for future use
Work closely with the QA team to identify and resolve frontend-related issues
Assist in estimating time and resources required for frontend development tasks
Participate in agile development processes, including daily stand-ups and sprint planning

You will be an integral part of our dynamic games team, contributing to the creation of engaging and innovative web-based gaming experiences.

Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

Strong experience with website development a big plus
Knowledge and experience in HTML5 and CSS3
Solid understanding of the challenges of device and browser fragmentation
An awareness of and ability to critique available JavaScript frameworks and libraries and apply their use pragmatically.
Familiar with version control systems like Git
Degree in IT, Software Development or similar

Desirable Skills

Exposure to programming languages such as Java or C# would be valued but not required
Exposure to databases and SQL
Experience with Spine 2D valued but not required
Understanding of software design patterns and principles
Understanding of software development principles and methodologies including agile development experience (eg Scrum)
Understanding of test-driven development using automated or scripted UI testing frameworks such as Selenium
